Arsene Wenger is ‘convinced’ Jack Wilshere will remain at Arsenal this summer after ‘positive’ talks over a new contract.
Wilshere’s current deal with the Gunners runs out in June, meaning he could leave the club for nothing in the summer transfer window.
It was widely reported that the 26-year-old rejected Arsenal’s previous contract offer, which, due to his well-documented injury struggles, featured a cut to his basic wage and was largely based on appearance incentives.
But it was recently claimed talks have since progressed, with a new offer on the table as the club attempt to convince the academy graduate to stay.
And Wenger is confident Wilshere will still be an Arsenal player next season.
